Dublin Bay Field Excursion During the International Geographical Congress

As part of the International Geographical Congress in Dublin, REWRITE conducted a successful field excursion at the ‘Dublin Bay’ demonstration site, bringing participants face-to-face with critical issues in ecosystem restoration and management. The excursion was a joint effort with the NATURESCAPES project, offering attendees hands-on insights into the ongoing work to restore and monitor the unique ecological dynamics of Dublin Bay.

This field trip provided a comprehensive look at ecosystem services, focusing on the interactions between natural habitats and urbanized spaces around Dublin Bay. Participants received in-depth guides on local biodiversity, coastal restoration techniques, and the socio-environmental challenges of conserving urban-proximate natural areas.

The collaboration between REWRITE and NATURESCAPES underscored the power of collective action in the face of ecological challenges, equipping participants with knowledge and inspiration to support conservation efforts worldwide.
